Come and learn how to decorate your own Valentine's Day cupcakes! This class is designed for children ages 6 and up. During the class, participants will learn how to pipe different patterns, fill cupcakes for added flavors, and decorate with confidence. At the end of the class, your child will bring home four uniquely decorated and delicious cupcakes and two piping tips to continue decorating at home. Come and have some fun learning to decorate Valentine's day cupcakes! 

This will be a fun class for kids ages 6 and older to decorate cupcakes with candy in time for Valentine’s Day. Cupcakes, frosting, and decorations will be provided.

Small businesses are the backbone of any economy whether national or local. They are responsible for, on average, two-thirds of the net jobs created in any given year while also serving as a significant force driving innovation in the American economy. When small businesses thrive, the economy thrives and people thrive.

This course is designed for those who want to start a small business. It covers the essentials from the original idea to assessing the competition, funding, marketing and pricing, and sales. The focus is on ways to avoid the pitfalls of startups and how to better take advantage of a now   booming American economy from southwest Wyoming.

      Scott W. Clark graduated with a degree in law in the 1980s. He practiced law for a time and found himself gravitating more to the business side of things. He served as general counsel to two companies in the U.S. and has taught business and critical thinking courses in graduate schools here in the U.S. and in Eastern Europe. He also was a consultant in Ukraine where he specialized in business start-ups.

Dayle Mazzarella is a Fly Fishers International Master Casting Instructor, as well as a long time Wyoming fishing guide. Dayle has conducted fly casting and fly fishing clinics, presentations, and camps all across America. His casting instruction is deeply rooted in his fishing experiences. Dayle has fished all over the world for species as small as High Mountain Cutts to 200 lb. sharks and tarpon.

This introductory course will demonstrate the value scales used in charcoal techniques and an introduction to pastel which will be used to bring color to our subjects. Cupcake Decorating Class for Kids

A concise course for students who want to develop rapid skills in drawing. We will cover drawing materials, uses of paper, lines and tones, flat to three-dimensional drawings, realistic drawings, working with focal points, composition, perspective, texture of objects, use of light and shading, and proportions. Focusing on these points will provide skills to progress to different subjects, diverse mediums, and prepare you for ART 102 – Charcoals and Pastels (mid-February), ART 103 - paints (mid-March). Listen to ways in which your decision making to discard or keep objects has a bit to do with your personality and mostly to do with inaction. In this class, you’ll be taught to visualize your space within your home walls and finish with discarding.

Come learn the secrets to making delicious homemade candies that make affordable gifts for Christmas, Valentines or any occasion, and will satisfy any sweet tooth. Sarah McRoberts, owner of Sprinkles and Pops, will demonstrate how to make peanut brittle in a microwave; English Toffee the old fashioned way; Caramel for gourmet apples, chocolate dipped caramels, and even your own version of your favorite candy bar. Participants will have an opportunity to dip cherry chocolates, caramels, cream centers and nuts. Each   participant will take home samples of their favorites.

Principles of Manual Photography

Get that fancy camera out of auto and take your photos to the next level! We'll cover manual exposure, understanding depth of field, how and when to freeze movement or creatively blur it, basics of composition, when B&W is a good idea and when it isn't, how to let your photo tell a story, and other tips and techniques for getting the images you want. We'll also take a little "field trip" to practice in real time and bring back our work for constructive feedback as we learn together. A DSLR camera is   highly recommended for this course, since we will be covering manual exposure and settings.

Learning to Fly Cast Better to Catch More Fish

Dayle Mazzarella is a Fly Fishers International Master Casting Instructor, as well as a long time   Wyoming fishing guide. Dayle has conducted fly casting and fly fishing clinics, presentations, and camps all across America. His casting instruction is deeply rooted in his fishing experiences. Dayle has fished all over the world for species as small as High Mountain Cutts to 200 lb. sharks and tarpon.

In this class you will be inspired to create a planter box that will be customizable for a specific theme or event. There are many uses such as flower planters, utensil holders, centerpieces, and decorations for reception tables, wedding décor or even a gift box. Quart mason jar displays would be a perfect idea as they are very popular for home decor. The list is endless.

This paste can be removed with water for a different design or it can be sealed for a permanent project. The choice is yours. ANYONE CAN CHALK! Samples are available to view at the BOCES Office.
