Events/Non Tumbling Classes

Explore the art of charcoal and pastel! This introductory course will demonstrate the value scales used in charcoal techniques and an introduction to pastel which will be used to bring color to our subjects. This course will use the techniques from Art 101 beginning graphite drawing and take it beyond the pencil to color. Students will have a quality original at the completion. The materials kit will be available to purchase on the first day of class for $25. Please let BOCES know if you are needing a kit by the registration deadline date listed above. Materials list provided at time of       registration.

This will be a fun class for kids ages 8 and older to decorate cupcakes with candy in time for Valentine’s Day. Cupcakes, frosting, and decorations will be provided.

(Parents are welcome to attend the class with their kids.)

ART 103 – Acrylic Painting

Explore the beautiful colors within acrylic painting! This course will use the techniques from Art 101-Beginning Graphite Drawing and Art 102– Use of Color Within Pastels and take it beyond into exploring with a different medium of acrylic paints. Students will have a quality original at the completion of the course. Class minimum – 5 students to maximum – 10 students. A material kit will be available to purchase for $35. You may bring your own materials instead of buying a kit. Please have a range of acrylic paint colors and brushes. Let BOCES know if you need a kit when you register.
